Discusses the causes of immigration; the adjustments of immigrants to American life; and the ethnic identities and cultures forged by American born descendants of the immigrants. Focuses on Irish, German, Italian, Polish, Chinese, and Japanese immigrants and ethnics as well as other groups that were part of this era of mass immigration to America.
