Description:
Designed to introduce students to multimedia video and audio creation and rendering. Using Macintosh & PC hardware, Canon ZR10s cameras, Shure SM57 & 58 microphones, Denon DAT recorders and such programs as iMovie, Vegas Video, Sonic Foundry Acid, Sound Forge and Final Cut, you will learn the basics of digital linear editing; microphone placement techniques; sound and video capture; storyboarding, and more. An emphasis will be placed as well on learning to find and use inspiration from almost any source. You will create audio and video collages; learn to create video and audio regions; create titles in Photoshop, and engage in spur-of-the-moment creative exercises using Found Art, digital images and photos, public domain audio and video from the 1930s through the 1960s, and ephemera.
