We will use examples from many different cultures, including Euro-American culture, to explore different ways of understanding, relating to, and living in the natural world. We will ask questions such as "What is 'the environment'?" "How do symbolic actions by humans affect the environment?" "What are the implications of this knowledge for biological , individual, social, and cultural sustainability?"
