CLASS HOURS: 3, CREDIT: 3 Prerequisite: MGT 340 This course delves deeper into the topic of the modern concept of the supply chain as introduced in MGT 340 Global Logistics, and focuses on basic techniques and strategic issues of supply chain management. This focus includes an explication of the impact of culture on strategic planning, organization, and control- management functions essential to facilitating the successful movement of products from their origins as raw materials to their final destinations as finished products. Within this general focus, specific topics will be addressed, such as customer service, e-commerce, facilities location strategy, inventory control, transportation, warehousing, and re-engineering of the supply chain.
