CLASS HOURS: 2, CREDIT: 2 Prerequisite: Junior Class Standing or Documented Maritime Experience Focuses upon the legal principles applicable to maritime commerce upon the seas and navigable water: traditionally called admiralty law. Coverage includes development of general maritime law and American admiralty law, indicia of jurisdiction, scope of the maritime jurisdiction, substantive maritime law, maritime liens, towage, salvage, maritime torts, collision law, worker's compensation claims, wrongful death, limitation of liability, and jurisdiction and procedure in maritime claims.
