Theory and use of instruments in the areas of electrochemistry, spectroscopy, mass spectrometry and chromatography. Lecture two hours, laboratory six hours. Prerequisite: CHEM 31, CHEM 140B or CHEM 142 instructor permission; ENGL 20 or an equivalent second semester composition course. Graded: Graded Student. Units: 4.0
