Popular music of the United States from the 1930s to the present will be studied from roots in early blues, jazz, and rock music into the diverse forms of contemporary popular culture, including contemporary Christian music. A music aesthetic focused with a Christian Worldview lens will explore the philosophical assumptions of popular music. Does music function as a cultural mirror? Offered each fall semester.
