Prerequisite: Appropriate Math placement. Note: May not be taken by student who has completed 5 or more hours in physics at 200 level. 3 lecture, 1 hour lab and conference alternating each week. An introduction to the physics of mechanics; levers, pulleys, wedges. Electricity and magnetism: electrical conduction, and magnets. Optics: color, mirrors, and lenses. Not acceptable toward physics major.
