A course covering the concepts and techniques employed by financial managers. Topics include: the environment in which financial decisions are made, time value of money; bond and stock valuation; risk and rates of return; the capital asset pricing model; ratio analysis of financial statements; financial forecasting; the capital budgeting process; the cost of capital; corporate capital structure and leverage; long-term financial decisions; working capital management and short-term credit. Extensive use of microcomputer modeling. Prerequisites: BUS 121, 122.
