Emphasis is on the applications of physical chemistry (isotope effects, linear free-energy relationships, solvent effects, thermodynamics, orbital symmetry) to organic chemical reactions (eliminations and additions, substitutions and pericyclic reactions). CHM 321L Laboratory is optional. Prerequisite: CHM 202
