Description:
The main focus of this course will be how computers can be integrated into classrooms. Students will learn how to create hypermedia and multi-media lessons using Hyperstudio. Students will also learn how to use the Internet and World Wide Web for research, and students will learn how to develop their own Web pages. In addition to developing real computer skills, students will also study issues concerning the use of computers in the classroom. These issues will include how to evaluate educational software, how to interest other faculty in using computers, and most importantly, how to use the computer in the classroom effectively. Students will also study social issues concerning computers in the classroom; such as gender, equity, and adaptive technologies. Basic computer literacy equivalent to CIS 100 is assumed. (LA-B)
