A survey of characteristics and comparative advantages of the major capital and money markets in the US and the world. An examination of the principles and practices of intermediation within the financial system. Topics include: international aspects of financial markets and institutions, pricing of assets and products, as well as the regulatory environment. Application of financial theory in the development of corporate policy is discussed. The course also examines the impact of recent developments in the international financial marketplace. Possible topics include: financing international trade and strategies toward foreign exchange risk. Prerequisite: BUS 301.
