Intensive study of the various institutions composing the American financial system. Emphasis is on the managerial aspects of these institutions, the relationships among them, and the environments in which they operate. This includes evaluating financial statements and measuring performance, determining organization and structure, as well as management of sources of funds and asset/liability techniques. Students will solve management problems encountered in the business of providing financial services. Extensive use of case studies and presentation. Prerequisite: BUS 301.
