This course presents the structure and use of knowledge-based expert systems in decision making. Topics covered will include problem solving, knowledge representation, production systems, the architecture of knowledge-based systems, survey of expert systems, applications of expert systems, issues in artificial intelligence and neural networks. Students will focus on the designing and implementing of knowledge-based systems using Level 5 Object and PDC Prolog. Prerequisite: CIS 201, or CIS 202 or BUS 31or permission of instructor. Spring
