An introduction to the terminology, application and integration of financial knowledge, understanding and reasoning among individuals, groups and societies. The course will concentrate on the theory and application of financial communication systems andinformation flow as a determinant in resource allocation, and the conduct of society. The articulation of the role ethical concerns play within group and societal financial reporting obligations is highlighted. Applications include: nature of assets, liabilities and equity; the recording and reporting cycle, internal control, usage of the Internet, cooperative learning, ethical discussions and communication skills.
