This course is a focused introduction to the fields of morphology, syntax and semantics, which builds on understandings gleaned in LIN 100. Morphology is the study of word formation. Syntax is the study of sentence building. Semantics is the study of linguistic meaning. The course will equip students with the basic tools of modern linguistic analysis in these areas, and in the interfaces between these areas, as well as the understanding of what is gained from this analysis. This course builds on information and understandings gleaned in Linguistics 100. Prerequisites: Lin 100. Sp-3-
