Presents the principles and techniques of therapeutic procedures used in respiratory care, including an emphasis on medical asepsis, safe handling and administration of medical gases, uses of humidity, aerosol therapy, lung inflation techniques, bronchial hygiene therapy and airway care. Prerequisite or corequisite: (BIO 137 and (MAT 110 or MAT146 or MAT150 or equivalent) with a grade of C or better if taken as pre-requisite). Lecture: 3 credits (45 contact hours). Laboratory: 1 credit (60 contract hours).
