Central focus on ethnicity, class, and status, including how United States' culture is influenced by the diverse ethnic backgrounds of its residents and how socioeconomic class shapes cultural values, policies, and the law. Also studied are human differences (such as age, marital status, education level, and disability) and their impact upon United States' society as a whole as well as upon the realities of individual lives.
