Presents the fundamental structure of the human body and the physiological mechanisms involved in normal functioning are presented through lecture and student participation in laboratory activities. Prerequisite: (Reading, English and Mathematics assessment exam scores above the KCTCS developmental placement level) or (Successful completion of the prescribed learning community to assist the student in determined areas of weakness) or (Consent of Instructor). Lecture: 3 credits (45 contact hours). Laboratory: 1 credit (30 contact hours).
