Prerequisite: JA 112 or equivalent Conversational ability in Japanese is further developed and refined by emphasizing interaction in real-life situations. Advanced functional and practical verbal communications are addressed along with a focus on Japanese culture. Teacher-instructed multimedia laboratory sessions reinforce skills learned in the classroom. SP 111 - Spanish I This introductory course enables students with no background in Spanish to communicate with Spanish-speaking people. The basic skills of speaking, reading, and writing in Spanish are established and the cultures where Spanish is spoken are introduced.
