Prerequisite: FR 214 or equivalent Introduces students to the history of French literature from the Middle Ages to the 19th century. Examines major French authors in the genres of poetry, the novel, and theatre, and emphasizes literary analysis through discussion. Films, recordings, and other media are used to illuminate the works studied. Conducted entirely in French.
