Prerequisite: ID 214 or ID 314 Introduces students to more complex building types and design studies. Work includes institutional spaces, such as healthcare/hospice care, government/correctional facilities, cultural centers, religious facilities, Supportive housing, geriatric/senior-living communities, multiple dwelling lobbies, shelters, and half-way houses. Students develop in-depth research and design analysis methods, and explore specific user-group requirements which address cultural, behavioral, and quality-of-life issues. Application and knowledge of building codes and ADA compliance are further developed in design project assignments.
