An interdisciplinary exploration of ethical issues in today's health care practice with particular emphasis on the role of the professional in ethical decision making. Topics include: values clarification, ethical theories and principles, human subjects in research, informed consent, advance directives, euthanasia, and physican assisted suicide. Work assignments include case analysis using ethical decision-making models. Prerequisite: Nurs 3300, Nurs 3310, or \ Baccalaureate degree or permission of nursing faculty. [9/1/2004]
