The objective of this assimilative course is to provide juniors and seniors with a reflective and action oriented experience in the hospitality/strategic management process. In addition to traditional classroom activities, students will work with a virtual learning technology known as HOTS. HOTS or (Hotel Operations Tactics and Strategy) is a unique tool for management training and development which is currently utilized by many major hospitality corporatons utilizing HOTS. Students will simulate the operation of a full service hotel in a variety of competitive environments. Through the simulation of realistic business situations, HOTS provides learning with an opportunity to analyze the cause and effect of decisions in the areas of business planning, operation, finance, and revenue management, cost control, sales and marketing, customer service and human resources.
