This course explore the connections between colonialism and disease. From the horrific destruction of Native American communities at the hand of smallpox, to the more subtle effects of syphilis in India, or tuberculosis in South Africa, focus will be on how epidemics reordered colonized societies and shifted power to the colonizers.
