The course is designed to identify and approach financial decisions faced by individual consumers and their families at various points throughout their lifetimes. In addition to providing financial planning techniques useful to students in their own lives, the course provides a foundation upon which interested students can build to prepare for a range of career opportunities in the financial services industry. While there are no formal course prerequisites, students should be familiar with LOTUS spreadsheets. Prior course work in accounting, finance or economics is necessary. [1/2/1997]
