Written for the adolescent reader, they feature individuals of all ages in stories that capture the complexity and struggle of adolescence as a time of shifting identity and growth into adulthood give voice to the battle for self- determination that characterizes this developmental period. In addition to the American and British perspectives offered, other voices will be heard as well. Also covered are poetry, illustrated texts and other film media that reflects some of the complicated issues and ironies of adolescent peer pressure, family conflict, loss, death and rites of passage.
