Changes in the environment of concern for both personal and community health. Toxic substances entering the air, water, and food chain from pesticide use, industrial use of chemicals and from pollution events associated with landfills, incineration, and sewage treatment. Background information necessary to understand and prevent pollution and to remediate degraded environments. This course is taught on-line. Both lecture and laboratory will be conducted using distance learning technology. This is a laboratory science elective. [9/3/2003]
