A calculus-based introduction to biophysical concepts and computational methods for science majors using Excel. The course is an integrated lecture and computer lab experience. Topics covered include membrane transport, equilibrium and the Nernst potential, properties of random walks and diffusion, and an introduction to molecular dynamics methods. (Students cannot earn credit in both BIOL/CHEM/PHYS 323 and BIOL 310). Spring.
