The first of a two-semester overview of the major principles of biology, General Biology I includes a study of the biochemical and molecular structures of cells, photosynthesis, metabolic pathways, cell division, heredity, gene expression, and early development. Concurrent with BIO 117. Students enrolled in two or more of the following courses (ENG 094, ENG 100, or MATH 092) may not register for this course. (Science Core Course for Biology majors and Psychology majors pursuing the Bachelor of Science degree option)
