This course provides an in-depth study of the history of computing and how computers have affected society. Furthermore, it covers the computer skills, basic to advanced, needed to teach others to be truly computer literate in modern society. Topics include history of computing, the social context of computing, ethical issues in computing, computer security and privacy, the impact of the internet and the World Wide Web, an introduction to computer architecture and operating systems, words processing, spreadsheets, and database systems.
