Lecture 2 hours; laboratory 3 hours; 3 credits. Prerequisites: MATH 163 and MET 100. Basic plane surveying measurements and computations, survey control systems, elementary digital mapping and simple curves, and building construction survey and stakeout. Field exercises using standard surveying instrumentation, traverse and leveling techniques, topographic mapping and curve layout.
