This course includes an orientation to the laboratory and management structure, professional organizations professional ethics, communication, and record keeping. Also included in the course are medical terminology and abbreviations, quality assurance procedures, laboratory safety rules and procedures, specimen processing laboratory automation, and basic immunology. This course introduces the student to the various laboratory departments. Prerequisite: Admission into the CLT program or permission of the CLT Program Director or CLT Clinical Coordinator.
