Prevention of cardiopulmonary disorders and care of individuals with long term cardiopulmonary disability are covered. Psychosocial and physical needs of the client are addressed. Emphasis is on improving the quality of life and cardiopulmonary reserve. Special respiratory care needs of diverse client populations in a variety of settings are covered. Prerequisite: RRT 200, RRT 210, RRT 220 and RRT 221 with a grade of C or better; or consent of instructor. Lecture: 2 credits (30 contact hours).
