This course introduces student to the installation, use, and maintenance of widely-used derivatives of the UNIX operating system, such as the Fedora and Debian distributions of Linux. Topics include file management, user account management, bash shell commands, shell scripting, working with desktop environments, periperal device connectivity, and Linux/Unix networking basics. Students will also be introduced to common application software for these enviroments.
