This is a 15-hour certification course for food handlers and especially for supervisors. This course is approved by the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture Bureau of Food Safety and Laboratory Service. Upon successful completion of this course, students should be able to: Satisfactorily pass the certification examination administered by the College. Identify the causes of food borne illness. Handle, store and prepare food in accordance with generally accepted sanitation guidelines. Apply federal, state and local regulations/laws specific to food-service procedures. Implement a self-inspection sanitation program in a foodservice operation. 3 hours each week 1 credit
