Description:
This course provides students with an introduction to data base concepts, data models and Data Base Management SYSTEM (DBMS) software. The relational data base model is examined. One or more of the common DBMS software is included as part of the hands-on activities associated with the course. Upon successful completion of this course, students will: Discuss general concepts of computer data base systems. Understand data models through an intuitive approach to data base design. Recognize the standards for data base design and apply them to the data base design of a specified application. Identify the main features of a relational data base model. Design, develop and manipulate a rudimentary relational data base.
