This course introduces students to the total marketing process. Students explore key marketing concepts and activities related to the development of strategies related to product, price, place, and promotion. Topics include marketing strategy, the marketing environment, segmentation, targeting and positioning, marketing research, consumer behavior, branding, ethics, and social responsibility. Upon successful completion of this course, students should be able to: Describe the nature and scope of marketing; Identify the opportunities and constraints that exist in a company's external environment; Explore the value of gathering information for problem solving and decision making; Discuss factors that influence consumer behavior and purchasing decisions; Demonstrate an understanding of decisions related to product, pricing, distribution, and promotion; Discuss concepts related to international marketing, ethics, and social responsibility.
