Focused on the development of entrepreneurial skills, this course is a survey of the opportunities and difficulties faced by individuals who wish to own and/or operate a small business. Topics include entrepreneurship, forms of ownership, franchises, planning, financial considerations, location, monitoring for profitability, legal issues, taxation, human resources management, and marketing. Students will develop a business plan.
