Description:
Students will become familiar with the microprocessor as a circuit device, with its architecture and its role in micro- processor-based systems. The organization of these systems will be investigated to specify the roles of buses and ancillary integrated circuits and input and output functions. Particular attention will be given to the interfacing of the microprocessor system with the outside world in both parallel and serial. The student will learn assembly language programming and the use of an assembler to generate object code.
