Develops communication skills directed towards the role of the medical assistant in receiving, organizing, prioritizing and transmitting information. Develops interviewing skills for obtaining patient histories. Provides an ethical framework in which the medical assistant functions within the health care setting. Acquaints the student medical assistant with the process and requirements for certification.
