Introductory course in the structure of vertebrate animals. Laboratory work includes the comparative anatomical study of organ systems using representatives of the various protochordate and chordate classes. Emphasis is placed upon the physical evolution of the vertebrate classes using anatomical, embryological and paleontological evidence. One hour lecture and four hours lab/ week. Prerequisites: Principles of Biology I and II. (Offered spring semester.)
