Advanced study in jewelry and metals in which the student continues to develop style and techniques while discovering personal artistic direction. Covers techniques including surface embellishment, filigree, stonesetting, and mechanisms to be used as tools for aesthetic expresssion. Expands student awareness of historical and contemporary jewelry/metal work while incorporating concept with craft. Problem solving and critical analysis are emphasized in this course, along with professional practices and portfolio development.
