Description:
This course introduces the student to the structure of the Internet and use of Internet research techniques and web publishing skills using HTML. Resources discussed will include File Transfer Protocol (FTP), Telnet, and the World Wide Web (WWW). Electronic mail (E-mail), various means of accessing the Internet, research skills, security, and "netiquette" issues surrounding the appropriate use of such networks will be discussed. Students will also create web pages using HTML. Considerable hands-on-experience will be provided Prerequisite: CIS 105, or CIS 110, or CIS 111, or CIS 155 or equivalent experience.
