Transfer Application Requirements

  • Minimum GPA:
    There is a minimum GPA requirement of 3.3 (3.5 for the Business School and 3.3 for the School of Engineering).
  • Official Transcripts:
    Official transcripts from all collegiate institutions you have attended are required. If you have less than the minimum credits required, you will also have to submit official high school transcripts.
  • SAT Scores:
    SAT/ACT scores are only necessary if you have less than the minimum credits required/
  • Letters of Recommendation:
    One Instructor Evaluation is required.
  • Essay:
    A personal essay helps us become acquainted with you as a person and student Your statement (250 words minimum) should address your reasons for transferring and the objectives you hope to achieve.
  • Application Fee:
    There is a $55 nonrefundable application fee.
  • Interview:
    A personal interview may be required.

Transfer Credit Policy

  • Minimum Grade:
    A minimum grade of "C" is required for transfer credit.
  • Credits (Min/Max):
    Minimum credits of 30 semester/40 quarter units are required. You can transfer a maximum of 88 credits to Santa Clara.
