Transfer Application Requirements

  • Minimum GPA:
    Transfer students generally receive favorable admission review when they present a minimum cumulative 2.50 grade point average on all college-level course work, provided they have attempted at least 24 semester credits, or 36 quarter credits, at institutionally accredited colleges or universities.
  • Official Transcripts:
    Samford requires official college transcripts to be sent directly from your school. Students who have completed less than 24 semester credits must also submit their official high school transcript.
  • SAT Scores:
    Students who have completed less than 24 semester credits must also submit their ACT or SAT test scores.

Transfer Credit Policy

  • Minimum Grade:
    Transfer work from institutionally accredited (formerly regionally accredited) colleges and universities will be accepted if the student has earned a grade of C- or higher (D grades will not transfer into Samford).
  • Credits (Min/Max):
    A maximum of 64 semester credit hours (or 96 quarter credits) can be transferred in from junior or community colleges. Students transferring work from upper-level or four-year institutions may be allowed to exceed the 64-hour transfer credit limit.
