  • Accepts Transfers:
    No matter where you are in your program at another college or university, Saint Mary’s accepts applications from transfer students throughout the year. Begin classes in the fall or spring on our Winona Campus.
  • Degree Completion Programs:
    Working professionals and adults with busy lives appreciate the convenience of the bachelor's completion programs at Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota. Even if your last course was 15 years ago, we’ll recognize your experiences.
  • Credit For Life Experience:
    Your earned credits, work experience, and military service may all be applied toward one of Saint Mary’s bachelor of science degree programs.

Transfer Application Requirements

  • Minimum GPA:
    A minimum college GPA of 2.0 (on a 4.0 scale) is required of transfer applicants.
  • Official Transcripts:
    Official transcripts from every technical college, community college, and/or university previously attended are required. Official high school transcripts are required for students who have completed less than 24 college credits post-graduation.
  • SAT Scores:
    Official ACT or SAT scores are optional.
  • Letters of Recommendation:
    Letters of recommendation are optional.
  • Other Requirements:
    A completed Dean of Students form from previously attended institutions is required.

Transfer Credit Policy

  • Minimum Grade:
    Courses graded C/2.0 or higher.
  • Credits (Min/Max):
    A maximum of 62 semester credits may be accepted for transfer. You must complete 60 credits at St. Mary's to earn a bachelor's degree.
