St. Bonaventure University is a private, liberal arts college located near the city of Olean in southwestern New York state. The campus is about 75 miles south of Buffalo, and 115 miles south of Rochester, New York. The University was founded in 1858 by a group of Franciscan friars, a Catholic religious order dedicated to the teachings and values of St. Francis of Assisi: equality, justice, peace and community.
