Transfer Application Requirements

  • Minimum GPA:
    The minimum GPA requirement for transfer admission consideration is a 2.5 (on a 4.0 scale). Students with an Associate Degree and a 3.00 cumulative GPA or higher may be accepted into the Fast Track Program and work simultaneously toward a Bachelor's and Master's Degree.
  • Official Transcripts:
    Official transcripts from all colleges you have attended are required. If you have fewer than 15 credits of previous college work completed, you will need to submit official high school transcripts.
  • Application Fee:
    There is a nonrefundable $50 application fee.
  • Other Requirements:
    Transfer students must use the SUNY application.

Transfer Credit Policy

  • Minimum Grade:
    Grades of C & above are transferable to SUNY Maritime. Passing grades of C- & below will be accepted within an associate degree. Students are encouraged to repeat low grades in courses that lay the foundation for success in subsequent coursework.
  • Credits (Min/Max):
    A max of 75 credits may be transferred from 2-year institutions & 90 from a combination of 2 & 4-year institutions. All transferrable credits may not apply to selected major.
