  • Accepts Transfers:
    Applicants, who have previously registered at another college or university, following graduation from high school, are considered transfer students. Even if you have registered and then withdrawn, you are still considered a transfer.
  • Transfer Agreements:
    The College has formalized transfer agreements with a number of higher education institutions.
  • Credit For Life Experience:
    Credit for Life Experiences may be granted to students enrolled in any program.

Transfer Application Requirements

  • Minimum GPA:
    Transfer students must meet specific GPA and credit hour requirements, depending on the number of semesters of college work taken. Some degree programs have Specific Academic Requirements.
  • Official Transcripts:
    In addition to completing the SUNY Application for Admission, transfer students must also submit an official transcript from each college or university previously attended and an official high school transcript.

Transfer Credit Policy

  • Minimum Grade:
    You must earn a C or higher to transfer credits into SUNY Canton. If you already have earned an Associate or Bachelor’s degree, D or higher will transfer in except in some health related programs where a C is required to graduate.
  • Credits (Min/Max):
    SUNY Canton tries to award as much transfer credit as possible into your desired program of study. This depends on where the courses were completed, the grades you received, and what your intended major will be at SUNY Canton.
